Road Trip

I took my first roadtrip since I've been out in Portland. My brother, his friend Gilbert, and myself hopped in the subes and headed towards Mt. Baker in Washington for a big Ski to Sea event that happens every year, and which my older brother, Josh,
has teams in every year. We left Portland and took a very long, scenic route to Mt. Baker taking us through Mt. St. Helens, Seattle, the North Cascades and a number of little towns in between, about every windy, one lane road that Washington had to offer (many of them washed out, snowed in, or closed altogether), awesome views, too many beers, one broken Subaru key, one long walk from Georgetown through South Seattle, lots of arduous hikes through snow or pavement, good campfires with good people, one 80-some mile marathon from Mt. Baker to Puget Sound, and some of the wrinkliest feet I've ever seen.

Art Session

I have been really inspired since coming to Portland, partly due to the creative atmosphere I dropped myself into.. and partly due to the excitement of moving and being in a new place.. Regardless, I have some very talented and motivated friends in Portland, and as soon as I got a couch to sit on, I invited some of them over for an impromptu art session.. My good friends Tai, Eatcho, and Asa amongst others were there to make some marks..

Later, I'll actually post some images of what came of that art session, besides eating burritos and smoking monster doobies...

Trikin'

Spring has done sprung here in Portland.. well, kinda... It's still a bit cold and rainy sometimes, but when the sun does come out, Portland turns into one big playground. It's full of some beautiful parks, tons of biking, ample skateparks, lots of bars and outdoor seating and everybody coming out of the woodwork to play. To mark spring, my friend Pete recently got this totally sweet trike bike made by Razor for $5! It didn't take long for us to destroy it's back wheels.. and my spine..

Tank Theory May 2008 Update

Tank Theory has kicked off May (umm.. a little late i guess) with some killer new stuff. Check out Stained Skull, May's Tshirt of the Month. It's full strength! James Roper's new design is mind boggling as usual. Plus, a new artist in our ranks, Skinner, killed it with Death God.. Some awesome stuff, so make a point to stop through!

Fun Times at Portland High

Had a great past weekend! Got to finally put down the work I've had to do since I came to Portland and go out on the town and see what was what. On Thursday night, went to Rotture to a kickin soul & dance party w/ DJ Beyonda with my friends Tai and Nick. Friday, my brother Blake, came down from Seattle to help me move stuff into our new house. And I bought a new Subaru! Saturday night, it was my friend Lexi's big 30th at this amazing loft space where next door there was a huge party w/ fire and pudding wrestling. It was a strange affair but well worth the visit.. Here are some random pix from that night in particular. Sunday was recoup day. After 4 hours of sleep on Pete & Marisa's floor, woke for some great breakfast and the only other thing I had any energy for.. getting high and going to see Iron Man.

Subaru!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Subarus.. especially Subaru Loyales from 1989-93. They are cheap, economical, dependable work horses of vehicles that normally require very little work and when they do, can be fixed yourself pretty cheap. And I love the wagons because they are ugly, nobody wants to steal them, and they are great for lugging around wood, supplies, and other such things. And yet another reason I love them (especially when they are on the west coast) is that they don't rust like they do on the east, where they salt the hell out of the roads during the winter.

So, when my brother visited this weekend to pick up some schtuff for the house we're renting, we stopped by this dealership to look at a Subaru with no real intention of buying it.. then i saw this shiny, brown 93 Loyale 4x4, totally changed my mind.. and clunked down the cash on the spot for it. Now i have this totally ugly and sweet babe magnet that I can do all types of fun stuff with.. I mean.. look at how shiny it is!

Future Snowboarding Mag

Saw this cover recently, albeit a couple months late, for the march 08 issue of Future Snowboarding Mag. The rider on the cover is nose grabbing what? ..the Jibpan board I designed for K2 this last winter season. Flipped through the mag and saw rider Bryan Fox riding the WWW I did for K2 as well.. sweet!

Apparently, those board models were pretty popular because I saw them all over the mountains myself this winter. It's nice to see people riding something that I helped create.

Yves Laroche Galerie D'Art

Coming originally from New Hampshire, I grew up very close to Canada. In fact, and although I don't speak any French, I consider myself partly Canadian.. due to my 15 minute proximity and having friends in Canada growing up, but also because I spent a lot of my formative years skating the streets of Coaticook, Sherbrook, and Montreal in Quebec and sneaking into its seedy bars before I could legally go at 18.

Now, 10 years later, I have the pleasure of re-establishing a connection with Canada through Yves Laroche Gallery in Montreal. They have kindly offered to represent my artwork in Canada and I am more than happy to oblige. A number of my works have already shipped there and more is on the way. So any of you east coasters that didn't get to catch any of my work in person from the Trinity show in LA, now have the opportunity to see much of it on the east.
